A lesson on self-love

Lizzo is one of the most body-positive celebs to come out of the music industry, which is why she is so important to us. So if you wanna gain some confidence tips from our girl Lizzo, keep reading.
every time lizzo said a big f you to toxic body shamers
‘im not working out to have your ideal body type’
So we all know Lizzo has been on a health, fitness, and juice cleanse journey. She has said time and time again she wants to feel healthier and if weight loss comes with it – great. But of course, the body positivity police have a problem with her ‘shedding her weight’ as that would mean she’s not actually loving herself the way she is. The ‘Truth Hurts’ singer shut trolls down fast by saying ‘health is not determined on what you look like on the outside’ – well said, Liz.
‘If you really dont like my ass – you can kiss it’
Let us never forget the day our queen wore a revealing outfit to the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minessota basketball game (just like many other celebs do), causing a media storm of criticizers obsessing over whether it was appropriate or not to wear what she wore to a basketball game. Lizzo clapped back with a powerful statement everyone should live by. ‘Your criticism has no effect on me, negative criticism has no stake in my life, no control over my life or over my emotions’.
‘tiktok, we need to talk’
Lizzo called out the toxicity of TikTok after receiving hateful messages on a video of her in a bathing suit. We all know that if you scroll through TikTok for 5 minutes, you are bound to see a thirst trap. Whether it’s the silhouette challenge or the corset challenge, these ‘challenges’ are all designed to showcase the female body. So it’s interesting that viewers only had a problem with Lizzo’s video. In true Queen fashion, Lizzo clapped back saying ‘TikTok keeps taking down my videos with me in my bathing suits, But allows other videos with girls in bathing suits. I wonder why? TikTok … we need to talk.’
So there you have it, every time Lizzo has reminded us that achieving perfection is impossible, and people will have an opinion on you no matter what you look like. But the only opinion that matters is yours. Don’t let people discourage you, self-confidence and body positivity comes from within and not validation from the masses. If you want a lesson on body positivity, Lizzo is your girl. We hope this list helps you learn to love yourself like our girl Lizzo does.
